The Railway Cafe

A Few Words About Our Cafe

The Railway Cafe is a beautiful listed building, a railway station restored to its former glory in 1990 and opened as a cafe. The Station sits on the old Wolverhampton to Dudley railway line stretching from Aldersley all the way towards Dudley cutting through the beautiful Staffordshire countryside passing Himley Hall.

The disused line is now perfect for walkers, cyclists, family outings and horse riding. There is ample free parking and is only 2 minutes drive from the historic village of Wombourne. The cafe offers a delicious selection of freshly made food, breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea and is a licensed premises, so you can enjoy your favourite tipple whilst dining with us. Dogs are welcome in the garden or on the old platform that is all under cover. Also close by is the beautiful Victorian Bratch Pump House, Bratch Locks and Bratch Park.

A lovely cafe for an after walk drink or food. Housed in the old Wombourne Railway Station building, there's a large car park as well as the cafe's own parking area. It's very popular with walkers as there are several walks that you can do which all start & finish at the cafe. We usually have a full English after ours, which always hits the spot, but delicious sandwiches and cakes are also available. In the summer sit outside in the garden or under cover on the platform, in winter it's always warm inside. We love it.

Love this spot in a historic area. Excellent location by the canal and the railway walk. really nice to take the family and the pooch as dogs are welcome outside. And there's bike lock ups if you have cycled. The food is also bang on! lovely breakfast and lunchs! Staff are friendly and attentive.

Love this place, the staff are wonderful and the service is amazing. For the best experience I say come on a sunny day and sit outside, and soak up the sounds and smells of nature while you enjoy your food or drinks. The also have a great place to park up your push bike, which is always a bonus, but I'm yet to find anywhere to safely leave my horse. 😀

Nice friendly waitress service. Decent menu for a cafe. From buttered toast through to a cooked breakfast or jacket potatoes with various fillings. Nice surroundings for a leisurely walk or cycle ride away from the rat race.
